Sliding glass doors are designed for seamless operation along horizontal tracks that are fitted to the floor and ceiling. Depending on the type of sliding glass door you choose, options can include: – right-hand or left-hand operation; regular or flush tracks; straight, curved or cornered configurations; two to multiple panels; various levels of insulation and weather stripping; stacking or pocketing panels when opening; and of course, a multitude of designs and panel sizes, just to name a few.
Unobstructed Views and Lots Of light
Our patio sliding doors are frame-fitted with large glass panes that extend the length and width of each panel, allowing for a great view of the outdoors and for your interior space to be flooded with natural light during the day. This not only saves energy, but also creates a warm and inviting environment for you and your guests!
Seamless Indoor/Outdoor Lifestyle
Exterior sliding doors can truly bring the outdoors in and the indoors out with stunning panoramic views of your exterior environment. Open up to your pool or patio at home, the foot traffic passing by your store, or the patio seating area of your restaurant to enjoy the best of that the indoor/outdoor lifestyle has to offer!
Maximizes Your Space
Sliding patio doors, as with all glass doors, create an impression of a larger space, similarly to how large mirrors open up the feeling of a room. In fact, sliding doors actually do give you more space than conventional hinged doors since they do not require any additional swing room, allowing for more freedom when you are arranging your interior and patio furniture and fixtures.
All sorts of styles
The Folding Door Store carries an extensive selection of the best exterior sliding glass doors on the market to provide you with an array of options to suit your project. We carry doors from a large variety of manufacturers with a multitude of designs. Door frames are available in an assortment of materials ranging from wood, aluminum, fiberglass, to vinyl sliding doors.
Good Traffic Flow
Our patio sliding doors provide a wider opening than traditional doors, making it the perfect setup to accommodate high traffic flow at garden parties, backyard barbecues, or for busy storefronts, restaurants and social venues. Moving large items such as furniture and appliances in and out has also never been easier with these doors! We also offer sliding pocket doors, where door panels slide into openings in the wall rather than stacking on top of each other as they open, which maximizes the area of open doorway.
They are energy efficient
There is a myth that glass doors are not energy efficient, however this is not the case at all. Opt for our thermally treated and/or multiple-paned glass to withstand against heat, cold, and wind, or go with our lift and slide options, which have a specially engineered design allowing for a complete seal for the ultimate weather-proof door. Maintain the comfortable temperature of your home without spending extra on your energy bills, while enjoying the warmth and brightness of natural light, or the cool breeze of the outdoors!
Lift and Slide Doors
This innovative alternative to regular exterior sliding glass doors operates by lifting the door panels onto rollers to glide effortlessly along extremely low-profile tracks (around 3/16”), also known as “flush tracks”. The lifting mechanism is activated by an easy-to-use leverage handle that can engage the system into a “down” or “up” position. When in the down position, the system creates a complete weathertight seal by using its own weight to compress down onto the seal. Because of its ability to carry a heavier load, you can opt for thicker multiple-paned glass (for security and further weatherproofing), extra-tall panels, and multiple panels. Our custom lift and slide doors can even come in curved, cornered, or pocketed configurations to fit your needs!
Multi Slide Patio Doors
Like the lift and slide version, multi-slide doors are large, multiple panel doors that slide open for a panoramic view of the outdoors. The primary difference between the lift and slide and the multi slide is in the rolling hardware. Unlike the lift and slide system, the multi slide doors operate on stainless steel rollers with regular tracks with a higher profile and may be ideal if you are looking for a multiple-panel sliding patio door that doesn’t require the additional height or thickness, and if regular weatherproofing is suitable for the environment surrounding your project property.
